Effects of fast food?

i am 5'3 113 lbs. i eat some sort of fast food like wendys or mcdonalds pretty much everyday or every other day at least. there are no visual effects of my diet but are there any other health effects that i should be concerned about? i play either baseball or basketball everyday so i am extremely active.

I'm 18 years old 183 lbs and 6'3" i recently started a bulk stage lifting and have gained 6 lbs in a week. I weighed myself in the beginning of the week and the second time one week later ( both were before eating breakfast and after using the bathroom). I'm eating about 3200 calories a day and before the stage i was eating about 2000 calories a day ( i was on a cut stage to get lean for summer). I haven't really gained any inches on my waist line (there is always a small fluxuation) and my abs look the same as they did before at the beginning of the week. I dont think i've gained any fat but i know i can only gain .5 lbs of muscle per week. So my question is what is the 6 lbs that i've gained in a week actually? Any answer is appreciated and an explanation is even better. Again i dont think its fat because it doesn't look like i've gained 6lbs, but any help is appreciated. thanks

society, tv commercials all have us convinced that there is something wrong with our bodies - that is how they make money. If you were happy with your body image, you wouldn't need their products.. so we are conditioned to find fault with our bodies. This is just a state of mind.. I can tell you from personal experience - I was overweight and disliked my body. I thought that if I lost 20 lbs I would be happy with my body. I lost 20 lbs, and guess what? Now, there are other things I don't like. Before, it was that I was too fat.. now, I don't like my hips.. you see what I am saying? If you have the attitude that you will not like your body, then you can do whatever and you will never like your body - you will just find fault with something else.. the way to get over this is 1) realize that we are conditioned not to be pleased with our bodies 2) decide that you will love yourself no matter what. Size should never determine your happiness. Even if you gain 200 lbs, or lose a leg, if you have decided to love yourself, you will still be happy, no matter what, and that is a much better way to live.

First of all, I'm NOT fat. I'm 16, 5'5, and weigh 107 lbs...aka slim. 2 months ago I went on a diet and would only let myself eat after at least 3 hours had passed since my last meal. Food was my "reward" for waiting so long, and when I allowed myself to eat I felt so happy and relieved. I've been off the diet for a month now b/c I realized it was making me miserable. But now... Hair problems.. could this be caused by my diet?

I'm 17, and I've been vegetarian for about a year and a half, and vegan for a little over a year. Recently I've been having a lot of breakage in my hair; I have lots of split ends, and in bright light it looks like it's splitting almost all the way up my hair. How can I gain 10lbs overnight?

I have been on a strict diet for about 3 months because I was almost 50lbs overweight and it was affecting my health. Basically weight watchers/calorie counting/increased activity. I lost about 8lbs the first week, and a steady 2 a week since. However, every once in a while I let myself eat something I really want, in the past 3 months I've had 2 days I let myself eat what I wanted. First day I had 3 slices of pizza for my birthday and half a personal bag of chips later that night. Next day I woke up and weighed myself, I had gained 8.lbs. Over pizza and some chips. That was a month ago. Yesterday I had one serving of Kraft mac and cheese I made with tuna. I woke up today +9.1lbs from yesterday. I thought the pizza was a mistake, it had to have been, but it happened AGAIN TODAY!!! How is this even possible?? I didn't even eat a pound of food let alone almost 10!

I eat 50-400 calories a day, before purging. I hate food and I only eat it when other people make me or when other people are suspicious. I purge about 50% of the food I eat. This is how our day went: wake up for school run a little late so we wouldn't have to eat what our moms had made and just grab a granola bar or apple and throw it away on the bus. For lunch we would bring our lunch and just eat a little like a fourth of a sandwich and go to the bathroom and puke it up. For dinner we would eat as little as possible just enough for our parents not to notice and go to the bathroom and throw it up. That's how it is still because we don't feel beautiful and no matter how much weight we loose its never going to be enough.

What are these tiny green bugs that are all over my windows and doors?

I live in the Belmar, NJ area near the ocean. We have had unusual weather lately from humid, to thunderstorms, to heat waves, to downpours. He was living with my other older brother for a while and he ended up going crazy and was put in a mental hospital for a week. So my mom living two hours away came to town to see what was going on with him. He got out the place and wanted my mom to move back to town so he could live with her i believe. She decided to leave were she was living and came back so did my dad and i. Here i been living with my parents and older brother that was in the mental hospital. Here this is a 28 year old male that it seems like he cant live without his mom. I really think there is nothing wrong with him as others do to. He just wants to live off my mom. He pays her fifty dollars a week to stay with her. But yet i do not get he expects a food of plate to be cooked and ready for him every day. He is very lazy and does not clean. He seems fine to me he is 28 years old and does not even know how to cook.

I am using the "Fat to Firm: at any age" book to be my guide for getting in shape. The book advises me to start off small in my weights and go up in weight every month (or until I become comfortable with the weight that I am currently on). Just a little background on me.. I've been in every high school play since freshman year. (and seniority plays a major role in getting parts) Freshman year-I was "Misty" in the Nifty Fifties (comic relief, 12 lines) Sophomore year- Ado Annie in Oklahoma (almost 100 lines, 2 main songs) and then Junior year I was the Lead role in a comedy. The only other girl in my grade that is 'competition' is a soprano... but I beat her out for the lead in the last play.. I think I have a pretty good chance.. but its just NOT a role i'm used to. Granted, I have 9 months before the play and 7 until rehearsals even start... but when I want a part I WORK for it, and under stand the characters, what they'd think, how they talk, how they sing, how they move. Look at what you have just written. Is that any way to live? Where has this illness got you in the past two years? Whilst you are starving and binging and vomiting and thinking about food, your life is carrying on without you. Don't make the same mistake I did and realise that I had missed out on the best years of my life to an illness that I was able to fight if I chose to. Somebody with terminal cancer has no control over their illness. Someone with an eating disorder has the option to fight it and I suggest you get help today and start fighting towards a healthy and happy future. The alternative is that you wake up one day and realise you are lonely, infertile and have failed to achieve the things you wanted to in life. Good luck.

Running making me bigger?

I've been exercising regularly for 3 years now and lost a lot of weight, Now, it's creeping up. Running has made my thighs huge and has made my stomach bigger. I've also gain weight. This started few months ago when I started running a lot more, for 1 hr EVERYDAY. Before that, I'd run for 30-40 minutes and I was a good lean 110 lbs. My thighs were perfect size, and I had a really flat stomach and I loved my body. Now, My stomach is growing, I'm starting to see some "love handles" , my thighs and hips growing bigger ( fat around hips), and my weight is creeping up, because I've started running A LOT more. Now, I've been eating healthy and the same amount as I have been before, so, diet is not the issue. Do you think it's because of water retention from the running, or something, or that my body is trying to save energy by storing fat for the long runs? Is it like the "camel" effect? What can I do to get my old body back? Should I just reduce the amount of time I'm running to what it was before? What should I do? Any suggestions?

ok, im 14 and i weigh around 175 lbs. i consider myself very overweight. at the same time, i run as fast as your average person without breaking a sweat, and my friend cant run 20 feet without panting and hes around my weight. also, i ran straight up a hill (almost sprinting) twice the length of a normal street without breaking a sweat and only panting slightly. my friend couldnt even manage to run and had to do the method where you move sideways while going slightly up to reduce effort (i dont know how many people know it) and he was panting very hard when he got to the top, and i was at the top while he was only halfway. if it makes more sense, he was carrying his laptop in a shoulder-sling bag, but even without it he cant manage it. i have that hump on my stomach area that shows im fat and i have some squishy body parts, but at the same time, im athletic and agile and flexible strong (i can lift and carry my uncle who is 30 and is also overweight) im about 5 foot 5 and im a guy. is some of this fat actually muscle? i know i have muscle but am i mistaking some of it for fat? i dont major in any sport im an all-rounder i usually swim, play basketball, or soccer, but im not in any league or tem, i just do it on my own time.

I seriously don't understand how this is possible...?

Last week, I lost about 7 pounds, bringing me down to 224.5 lbs. I biked 7 miles, for maybe 3-4 days of the week. Then, this week, I biked 12 miles, EVERY DAY of the week, and ate no more than about 600-700 calories per day. I even started taking weight loss pills daily. I did my weekly weigh in this morning, after not eating or drinking anything for about 10 hours. I weighed myself at 11 AM, and at 1AM, 10 hours before the weigh in, I ate a single slice of bologna and American cheese sandwich on one of those 100 calorie buns, along with a 45 calorie bottle of gatorade. I thought that if I can lose 7 pounds in one week after barely dieting or exercising, I could lose a ton of weight if I dieted hardcore and biked 12 miles per day. BUT, I actually gained 2 pounds when I weighed in this morning. How could this be if I biked 12 miles daily, took weight loss pills daily, and consumed no more than 700 calories daily?

I'm 5'9" at about 165 lbs. I exercise regularly, about 4-5 times per week, but am going to really monitor my diet to slim down. Can I just count calories? Or do I need to be concerned with fat grams? What is a good recommended amount (of both, calories and fat) to lose about 2 lbs per week? My goal weight is about 145. Any tips or tricks for healthy eating? I have been eating very healthy & going to spin classes 3 times a week, along with walking a lot. I've done this for about two months and lost about 15 lbs.
